Now We Are Six – ty

Happy Birthday

“Getting old is like climbing a mountain; you get a little out of breath, but the view is much better!

Ingrid Bergman

Now We Are Six

by A. A. Milne

When I was one,
I had just begun.
When I was two,
I was nearly new.
When I was three,
I was hardly me.
When I was four,
I was not much more.
When I was five,
I was just alive.
But now I am six,
I’m as clever as clever.
So I think I’ll be six now
for ever and ever.

Now We Are Six-ty
(for Carmen)

by T. A. Fry

When I was ten,
I was afraid of men.
When I was twenty,
I had doubts a plenty.
When I was thirty,
A powerful thirst.
When I was forty,
I was terribly sporty.
When I was fifty,
I was carefree and thrifty.
But now that I’m sixty
I’m true to my form,
Decidedly sexy,
And deliciously warm.
